As a sponsor of Netball New Zealand and in recognition of the Halberg successes of the World Champion Silver Ferns, Peugeot New Zealand has released a Limited Edition 307 called the “Silver Fern.”

The car, of which there are only 50 (40 Silver and 10 black), has all of the normal features of the 307, (New Zealand’s top selling European model), however it also comes with 17 inch alloy wheels, a CD stacker and a leather interior for only $1,500 more than the standard retail price. In addition owners of these limited edition cars will also receive a top of the line Mitre netball signed by the Silver Ferns, as well as a $150 gift basket from Nutrimetics, another Netball NZ sponsor. The real bonus for netball fans however, will be the delivery of the special car by a Silver Fern squad member. Those living in Auckland, could even have their car delivered by the Silver Ferns Captain, Anna Rowberry (featured in photo). 

The Silver Ferns won the Netball World Championship last year, for the first time in 16 years. However, it was their total domination of the Halberg Sports Awards that really put them in the spotlight. The Silver Ferns won every award they were eligible for, including the Supreme Award, putting them at the pinnacle of sport in New Zealand.

“We felt it was important to acknowledge the astounding success of the Silver Ferns and wanted to offer something really special to netball fans. We are very happy to be offering a car with such great value and it seems only fitting that New Zealand’s top sporting team be associated with New Zealand’s top selling European model, the 307,” said Steve Kenchington, GM of Sime Darby Automobiles NZ Ltd.

The Silver Ferns, who have recently confirmed Fisher and Paykel Appliances as their premier sponsor, will once again meet their Australia rivals who they defeated in the World Championship final, in a test series being held in New Zealand later this year.

The Limited Edition Silver Fern retails at $38,990 plus on road costs.
