Environmental Sustainability
Welcome to the world of Peugeot. Not only do we make some of the most stylish vehicles on the road today, we make them with a huge amount of care. Care for you, your comfort, your pocket, and the environment all around you.
The Environment. We are all aware that excessive consumption of non-renewable resources throughout the world is affecting the sustainability of our natural habitat – our beautiful Mother Earth. We are also aware of the greenhouse effect, the need for renewable fuel resources, the need to repair the hole in the ozone layer and the impact that motor
vehicles have on our precious earth.
And that’s why we at Peugeot have committed ourselves wholly to sustainability. By not only giving something back from what we’ve taken, but also attempting to minimise our ecological footprint in every way possible.
Air quality. Why is it important? You may not be able to see it, but every day New Zealanders are breathing in bad air – and it’s not only affecting our “clean green” image, it’s also affecting our health & wellbeing.
We think we’re clean and green in New Zealand, but in Auckland, for example, we are often recording higher levels of carbon monoxide (CO) than London (NZ Herald, May 30, 2006).
Peugeot has initiated a raft of measures to help curb the effects of consumption on our natural resources. From a widespread sponsorship initiative here in NZ, and a massive international carbon sink project in the Amazon, to breakthroughs in emissions and safety technology in the European production plants – Peugeot’s continuous aim is to ensure the longevity of human and natural life. So when you get behind the wheel of a Peugeot vehicle, know that you are actively contributing to a cleaner, greener environment.
