New Peugeot E-5008: 7 seats and 660 km of range! 

The new PEUGEOT E-5008 sets a new benchmark as the only 100% electric SUV offering exceptional interior space for up to 7 passengers and an electric range of up to 660 km. We had the opportunity to meet the teams who designed it, at the PEUGEOT Design Center.

"In designing E-5008, we wanted our customers to be dictated even more by their desire than their need for such a livable and roomy vehicle." 

These are the words of Yann Beurel, Project Manager at PEUGEOT Design. They reflect their desire to design a dynamic, elegant and spacious vehicle. 

"The new E-5008 has a feline stance and offers a sense of security," continues Yann Beurel.

Its relatively high beltline and assertive lines give it a strong presence on the road, as do its generous dimensions (length: 4.79 m, width: 1.89 m, height: 1.69 m).

This provides exceptional living space for 7 passengers. Row 2 boasts remarkable legroom, while Row 3 is a benchmark in its class. All thanks to a particularly well thought-out modularity: the 60/40 bench seat slides with 40/20/40 backrests. What's more, the seats recline independently in 5 positions. 

Row 3 is no exception, with a real bench seat offering two independent backrests that are easily accessible thanks to the Easy Access system. This system allows the seats in Row 2 to be tilted completely and slid forward at the same time. This kinematics system, unprecedented in the segment, considerably improves access to Row 3, even for adults measuring 1.80 m.

The new E-5008 is therefore capable of adapting to all family needs, offering comfortable seating for 2 to 7, with a remarkable load capacity ranging from 259 dm3 (7-seater configuration) to 1,815 dm3 (Rows 2 and 3 folded down), via 748 dm3 in 5-seater configuration. But Gaëtan Demoulin, E-5008 Brand Project Manager, says it best: 

"The new E-5008 offers a remarkable living space with a high-end interior and state-of-the-art technological content characterised by the PEUGEOT Panoramic i-Cockpit ®. " 

To discuss the treatment of the interior, we turn to Julia Bourel, Color and Materials Designer.

"We played with textures, some very welcoming like mottled fabric and others more technical like aluminum. We managed to work with materials that were close to our hearts. The emphasis was really on quality." 

Designed from the outset as an electric model, the new E-5008 benefits from a range of zero-emission engines (WLTP cycles currently undergoing homologation) offering ranges from 500 to 660 km, including a Dual Motor AWD version and a long-range version.

This range of permanent magnet synchronous electric motors offers more power and greater efficiency. The 2-wheel drive versions deliver 210 hp (345 Nm) or 230 hp (345 Nm). The 2-motor 4-wheel drive version delivers a total of 320 hp. The front motor delivers 345 Nm of torque and the rear motor 170 Nm.

Confident in the quality of its products, PEUGEOT offers customers of the new E-5008 "PEUGEOT Allure Care", a program that provides total peace of mind by covering the electric motor, charger, powertrain and major electrical and mechanical components for up to 8 years / 160,000 km.

Asked how he felt about presenting the new E-5008 after years of work on the project, Yann Beurel concludes: 

"I think that the new E-5008 is an object with a strong personality. The exterior and interior designs are perfectly homogeneous. We can't wait to see it on the street!"
