ENVIRONMENT
The HDi engines of the new Peugeot 407 SW benefit from a common rail direct injection system which ensures very fine atomisation of the fuel directly in the combustion chamber, thereby giving a uniform fuel mix and reduced fuel consumption and emissions at source.
Particulate filter
All the HDi engines of the new Peugeot 407 SW range are provided with a particulate filter as standard equipment for improved environmental protection.
140 g of CO2
The new Peugeot 407 SW is available with a 1.6 HDi engine with particulate filter which gives a combined cycle consumption of 5.3 litres per 100 km, for an emissions level of only 140 g in both the saloon and SW versions.
Recycling standard
To protect the environment, the design and choice of materials used in the manufacture of the new Peugeot 407 SW are in line with the European directives on recycling.
2.0-litre HDi DPFS
The 2.0-litre HDi DPFS engine with six-speed manual gearbox is optimised on the new Peugeot 407 SW so as to comply with the Euro 5 standard applicable to new vehicles in 2009 and to all vehicles in 2010. At the same time, the power is increased from 100 to 103 kW, while fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are reduced (150 g of CO2 versus 155 g on the saloon and 159 g on the SW).
Bioflex
A 2.0-litre "Bioflex" engine running on E85 bioethanol fuel is available for some markets on the new Peugeot 407 SW.
